Hi Folks:
After our usual Wednesday breakfast, we're going to take a nice easy ride out through Coldstream, Lumby and up to Mabel Lake Provincial Park.  Maybe stop at Shuswap Falls on the way back.  If anyone is interested you are more than welcome to join us.  We'll likely depart Pur & Simple around 10:30 or so.  A stop for coffee or ? on the way back is a possibility.

Cheers, Wayne & Heather

We keep serving them up..... and you folks keep swinging and missing.

You missed another fabulous day of riding.  After breakfast we headed out on all of our favorite side roads north.  We took the back roads to the north end of the airport.  McCurdy Rd, Lakha Rd, Scotty Creek Rd, Old Vernon Rd, Anderson Rd, Postil Lake Rd etc.  A brief sojourn on Hwy 97 to Winfield, then Lodge Rd and Oyama Rd up the east side of Woods Lake.  We continued the theme by taking Crystal Waters Rd and Kalamalka Lakeview Dr on the way to the Kalamalka viewpoint.

Our route continued out College Way and Kalamalka Rd through Coldstream and on to Lumby where we picked up Lumby-Mabel Lake Rd.  It was a fantastic ride out to Mabel Lake Provincial Park with virtually no traffic and blue skies.

We walked over to the South Mabel Marina (at left in the photo) for ice cream cones.

On our return we stopped off at Shuswap falls to feed the mosquitos before returning to Lumby via Rawlings Lake Rd.  Our attachment to back roads continued when we picked up Buchanan Rd in Lavington which is a great alternate to return to Vernon.
We've discovered a wonderful route across east Vernon that avoids the traffic and traffic lights of Vernon.  We turn north on 15th St, then follow Pottery Rd, E. Vernon Rd, BX Rd, Dixon Dam Rd, Tillicum Rd, Silver Star Rd, Dedecker Rd, L and A Rd, Baker Hogg Rd, and Greenhow Rd where we get dumped back on Hwy 97A north of Vernon.
A couple of Km of 97A north and we drop off onto Otter Lake Cross Rd, then follow Otter Lake Rd into Armstrong for a Root Beer at the Village Cheese.

Like I say, we keep serving them up.......     One of these days someone is going to join us.
