Wayne, I will try to be at the Petrocan at around 10AM. I don't want to delay you so if I am not there when you are ready to leave, please proceed without me.

Well, other than the bad news about Ed and Alyne (see the newsletter) it was a pretty great day.
Five of us met in Winfield and rode up to Grindrod together.  We took the highway to Vernon then to Otter Lake Road, Schubert Rd, Canyon Rd and Grindrod/Enderby Road arriving a bit early for lunch.

Glen, Klaus, Carrie and Lloyd arriving at the Riverfront Pub.
We had a total of 11 for lunch.

Clockwise from left: Chris Scarborough, Carrie Cullen, Heather Paris, Lloyd Irwin, Emery Yakowich, Gerry MacDougal, James Crandell, Glen Cullen and Virginia Dawson.  MIA were Klaus Abel and yours truly from this pic.

We had a good lunch and although it was a bit slow, I think we have to cut the waitress some slack as she was busier than a one arm paper hanger.  I think this is going to be the norm for a while as restaurants and bars recover and get used to how busy they will be and to deal with staffing issues.  She actually did a real good job considering how busy she was.

We had 11 bikes on hand for the day.  Pretty darn good for our first "Pop-Up Event".

We had a pretty nice return ride to Kelowna.  We took McCleary Rd through Armstrong, repeated Otter Lake Rd then went down the West Side with a rest stop at Fintry.

We'll have to get a few more of these impromptu rides in.  Stay tuned to this channel.

Cheers, Wayne

Hey Wayne thanks for posting the details of the route to Grindrod. We did that ride today. Makes learning about the local backroads a lot easier for us newcomers.

You're welcome Mike.  There are lots of good roads around here.  We'll see if we can point a bunch out to you.  Or we can just go for a ride together.

Cheers, Wayne
