Last year with all the consternation over travel to the US, we came up with a great alternative at the The Lakeside Resort on the south shore of Tuc-el-Nuit Lake in Oliver. It turned out to be a great venue and although the weather was a bit cold and blustery we had a great time.
The resort is right in Oliver in the midst of some of the best riding in the Okanagan Valley. The weather should still be decent in south Okanagan for some great rides. The town center of Oliver, where there are several restaurants, is about 1.6 km or about a 22 min walk.
Last year we had several sites held for us (see site 9-27 on the map below). Each site will accommodate a 30' RV or two tents and each has power and water. Cost is $50 per site per night so $25 per tent per night if sharing a site. Included in this is a gazebo with barbecues and fridges for our use as well as a covered Hot-Tub available for our use.
If tenting in October isn't your thing, they have Cabanas on site right next to our reserved sites that have a covered kitchen area with a fridge and running water, and they each sleep up to six. Bring your own bedding and share for $69 per night.
There are also 21 suites for rent on site for the motel crowd. We don't have any of these reserved so if you're interested contact the resort for more information.
If you're planning on bringing an RV, tenting, renting a Cabana or suite, please contact the resort by phone at 250-498-2177 or by email at info@thelakesideresort.com to book. Tell them you are with the Valley BMW Riders so they keep us together.
If you plan to tent, and want to find someone to share a site with, contact Emery at vicepresident@valleybmwriders.com and he'll try to hook you up with others interested in tenting so you can book a site together.
The resort has advised us that they are typically not busy that time of year so sites don't NEED to be booked ahead, but if you don't book ahead you are taking a chance on the sites being booked up, so booking ahead, even a few days ahead of the date would be advisable.

Riding in the South Okanagan in early October can be wonderful and this looks like it could be a great social setting for us. We hope to see you there.
